Gupta heads to FatWire

Author: David Reich-Hale

Mineola-based FatWire Software said Tuesday its board of directors hired Yogesh Gupta of CA as its new president and chief executive.

Gupta takes over for Andrew Gyenes, who held the position on an interim basis since March, when founder Mark Fasciano stepped down from the top spot to focus on a new endeavor. Gyenes, who joined the company in 2003, will stay on in an advisory role through 2007.

"We wanted to recruit a professional manager and we looked for six months, but we're glad to have picked up Yogesh Gupta," said Fasciano, who is still the chairman of FatWire's board.

Gupta will be responsible for all global operations of the company, including sales, marketing, development, finance and professional services. He will also serve on the company’s board.

He comes over from CA Inc., where he was most recently the senior vice president, chief technology strategist for the Islandia-based company.

Fasciano, along with John Murcott, an early equity partner in FatWire, are partnering on a virtual networking site for business professionals called 411Karma.com.
