CMS Wire

FatWire Powers Military.Com

We don’t usually talk about client wins for vendors — unless they are huge. And this one is a big for Web Content Management provider FatWire. FatWire has been recruited to power the world’s largest military and veteran membership organization’s website — Military.com.

12 year old web CMS provider FatWire has been having a fantastic year: as we covered previously, they are making a ton of money, just released their Content Integration Platform and the beta release of the EMC Documentum connector. FatWire was also one of the biggest sponsors of this year’s Gilbane conference — they sponsored each morning’s coffee and bagel table, for which this reporter was incredibly grateful!

Military.com provides services to all branches of the military including the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and National Guard. The site is available for active and retired personal and their families.

I had an opportunity to talk with Yogesh Gupta, FatWire’s CEO for the last year, who very excitedly told me about the deal with military.com. They have been using FatWire for half a year, but have only recently re-launched the website they built using FatWire’s “very easy to use, easy to scale” product. They choose the FatWire solution for it’s ability to support large scale deployments and it’s streamlined content management features.

Like many companies, Military.com had been running their website off an unwieldy CMS and when they needed a switch, FatWire was there to take their site to the next level. According to Gupta, Military.com, which is the “is the nation’s largest online military destination serving over ten million members”, has showed tremendous growth and positive reactions to the new website launched using FatWire’s Content Server product.

There’s no word on the dollar value of this win, but we’re sure it’s a big number. A big salute to FatWire, definitely a win to acknowledge.
