Low-Cost Content Management

FatWire Software plans to introduce what it says is the first low-cost, portal-based content-management system. FatWire's Spark pCM was unveiled last week and will be released as an integrated application designed to run on portals built with BEA Systems' WebLogic Portal application. Additional versions compatible with other portal applications are in development, a spokeswoman for the vendor says. Spark pCM will be available this spring; pricing will start at $25,000. Features include workflow, to-do lists, user and group management, search, rollback, and automatic interface generation.
