FatWire Software, a leading provider of dynamic content management and developer of the powerful Web-application assembly system UpdateEngine5, and Semtor, a travel and tourism software consulting firm, today announced a new strategic partnership.
The companies will jointly market FatWire's software with Semtor's superior services to the travel and tourism industry.
Semtor and FatWire teamed to develop software solutions that enable the world's leading cruise lines to increase revenue by up-selling excursions and accommodations through online activity planners, leveraging passenger information to personalize marketing efforts, and decreasing customer service costs through enhanced Web functionality.
Under the agreement, Semtor will deploy FatWire's UpdateEngine into its suite of best-of-breed e-business solutions and deploy the solution to help customers build, maintain and grow flexible enterprise level Web sites.
"Semtor has a strong, focused knowledge of the travel market," said Mark Fasciano, president and CEO of FatWire. "Teaming with industry experts allows us to deliver personalized solutions to vertical markets. The FatWire and Semtor combination will provide a dynamic solution superior to any other in the travel and tourism industry."
"We've chosen FatWire as our content management system of choice because its open standard-based development has allowed us to cut our development cycle in half. This has saved our clients valuable time and money, not to mention the software license savings over the competition," said Todd Jones, President of Semtor.
According to the independent research firm Jupiter Media Metrix, by 2005, $33 billion will be spent online in US corporate travel and $28 billion on leisure travel. IDC forecasts that 31% of airline tickets will be sold online in the US in 2005, providing $32.7 billion in revenues.
