Pre-requisites

  • Knowledge of JSP/HTML programming is recommended
  • Experience with databases (SQL statements, queries etc) is recommended
  • A good understanding of the Web processing techniques as well as the experience with one of the following: JSP, ASP, or CGI (in any of these languages C, C++, Tcl, or Perl)

Overview

This five-day course is designed to develop and enhance the skills and techniques needed to implement Web Content Management solutions using the Content Server Suite of products.

Students receive an overview of the core features available with the Content Server application and utilize each of these features in the development of a basic solution designed specifically for this training course. This course focuses on the implementation of this design, beginning with the creation of a Content Management site in Content Server Advanced interface. Students are introduced to basic terminology, content modeling (Asset Data models), page design and caching techniques, and the most commonly used Content Server custom JSP tag libraries through a series of hands-on lab exercises.

This course is designed for developer/programmers who are or will be involved in development using the Content Server application. This course is also a good starting point for System Administrators/Architects/System analysts who would like to get an overview of Content Server Suite of products.
