FatWire Content Server Supports Global Expansion of Practical Law Company
Leading Web Content Management Solution Selected for Scalability and Web 2.0 Support
Mineola, NY – September 10, 2008 - FatWire Software today announced that Practical Law Company (PLC), a leading provider of legal know-how based in the UK, has selected the FatWire Content Server web content management (WCM) solution to support its global expansion. PLC chose the FatWire solution for its advanced Web 2.0 features and ability to support large-scale deployments, analyze the behavior of website visitors, and deliver a personalized and compelling web experience to its subscribers.
Launched in 1990, PLC provides subscription services, tools and publications for business lawyers and their advisers. Today, most of PLC’s subscribers use the web to access its database for legal know-how across areas such as corporate, finance, property, tax, employment and intellectual property law.
With a growing business in the U.S. and plans to introduce new types of rich media including audio, video, images, and more, PLC needed a scalable, robust and flexible, best-in-class WCM solution to manage content, provide targeted delivery to meet subscribers’ needs, and provide analytics to optimize online content. PLC also required strong support for Web 2.0 functionality to introduce new community features such as wikis, blogs, collaborative tagging, and discussion forums.
“Thousands of subscribers rely on us to provide content relevant to their needs, so we had to build a scalable, agile platform to ensure that even as we grow, our subscribers would continue to have easy access to information and a rich web experience tailored to their individual needs,” said Robert Dow, Practical Law Company Chairman. “FatWire Content Server delivers this on all fronts with a solution that can scale to support future growth as we expand into other markets.”
FatWire Content Server’s WCM capabilities and enterprise-scale support are a key component of FatWire’s Web Experience Management (WEM) platform, which includes robust features for content authoring, site design, content publishing, targeted content delivery, customizable web content analytics, and user participation.
“Managing and delivering relevant content to the right audience when they need it enables Practical Law Company to serve as a trusted resource for the legal community,” said Andrew Martin, FatWire Software’s regional director for northern Europe. “Customers like PLC rely on FatWire’s solutions as the platform to offer a compelling web experience and build an engaged community around their products and services."
