FatWire Delivers on Next Milestone of EMC Partnership with New Integration

Author: Chelsi Nakano

Fatwire is back in the news this week with the release of FatWire Content Integration Platform 2.0 for EMC Documentum. The platform enables organizations to apply enterprise standards for retention and business compliance to Web content.

EMC + FatWire
FatWire and EMC hooked up in a strategic partnership earlier this year. EMC resells FatWire’s Web Experience solutions to their customers, while FatWire offers EMC’s Digital Asset Management products.

“The EMC-FatWire alliance combines the strengths of a leading content management vendor and an innovator in the area of Web experience management,” said Melissa Webster, Program Vice President, Content & Digital Media Technologies at IDC. “IDC believes that this new partnership will deliver great value to customers of both EMC and FatWire by giving them the tools they need to succeed with their online marketing efforts.

In the Name of Business Value
Enter the FatWire Content Integration Platform 2.0. The platform was designed to recognize the kind of challenges that come with managing published and user-generated content to enterprise standards.
Based on a web services, peer-to-peer architecture, the platform enables users to access content of all types from EMC Documentum, Microsoft SharePoint, and Windows and Unix file systems. Content from FatWire sites can also be auto-retained in EMC Documentum for retrieval and business policy compliance:

This aims to help organizations:

  • Increase the speed of their business by lending users easy access to the content they need
  • Get more value out of content assets by liberating content from departmental silos
  • Streamline business processes and avoid content duplication
  • Maintain consistent enterprise standards for retention and business compliance across web content

"Our partnership with FatWire enables us to offer comprehensive marketing solutions, using the web as a central business channel," said Paul O'Brien, vice president and general manager of Information Access, Information Intelligence Group, a division of EMC. "FatWire’s Content Integration Platform 2.0 delivers an important integration of FatWire web content into Documentum. This is another proof point in the value the EMC / FatWire alliance can deliver to customers."
